Dead Pixels: "Life is for Living" Artwork

I'm a fan of the show Dead Pixels and on a whim made a high-res version of the "Life is for Living" picture. If you need a reminder, go ahead... download and print. It's not a dig.

White Plume Mountain - GLUSTIX & Chill??

Kemper and Nathan are back again to walk through this lil' 16 page mountain dungeon that still packs a wallop nearly 40 years later!

Work, you 3D Printer! I’m going to rest...

I have a bit of down time between now and the new year, so I’ve decided to work on a totally discretionary, decorative project.

A dear friend gave my family a large clear tube of Chicago mix popcorn for the holidays. The treat was quickly consumed, and I pondered the idea of how much the empty tube looked like a dice container.

That got me thinking about making an oversized set of OD&D dice to upcycle this fine container with!

I had seen the GaryCon set of OD&D style dice on Instagram (which subsequently sold out), found some reference pics, and got to "work" during my break. Thingiverse had a free-to-download set of 5 (the D20 serves as the D10 also). The STL file had them grouped as one file, so I quickly used Meshmixer to separate them into individual dies and got to printing!

Come time to paint, I’m thinking of rattle-can spray to give more rugged functionality if I wanted to use them in a session on the tabletop, and also give them a light gloss shine. Updates forthcoming. Happy holidays!

Treexperiment

On a pleasant walk with my kids, I came across this baron shrub. I decided to take a crack at using real shrubbery for tabletop scenery.

The pic above was right before dousing it with isopropanol to help make the matte medium spray I applied next stick better. It’s upside down so that in theory, it drips onto the weakest branches as it drips and dries.

More updates to come...
